Commodity Watch: Zinc futures advance on increased turnover

New Delhi: Zinc prices rose Rs 11.60 to Rs 346 per kg in futures trade as traders stayed on the sidelines amid a lack of fresh triggers.
Zinc contracts for February delivery edged up by Rs 11.60, or 3.47 per cent, to Rs 346 per kg with a business turnover of 4,393 lots. Traders at-tributed the slight rise in zinc futures to limited buying at lower levels, even as a lack of fresh triggers kept overall sentiment cautious.
Copper futures gain on high demand
Copper futures rose by Rs 79.30 to Rs 1,401 per kg on Thursday due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for February delivery grew marginally by 6 per cent in a business turnover of 17,913 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices rose by nearly 5.75 per cent to Rs 350.50 per kg in futures trade as specula-tors built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in February increased by Rs 19.05 in 4,973 lots.
